Who We Are
Collaboration with National Leaders and Experts
The ASCENT program offers a partnership with industry and government experts who collaborate together to accelerate and scale critical and emerging dual-use technologies in national security, cyber, and intelligence. Council members are some of the nation’s most advanced, sophisticated, and connected organizations. For decades, individual members of the Council have established reliable and influential relationships while developing and evolving critical national security accelerator skills and processes.
Membership in the Council is by invitation. ASCENT partners apply through a review process, and if qualified and accepted, a program will be prepared for acceleration. Once accepted into the program, ASCENT would share in some of the risk based on mutually agreed upon success measures.
Why should a company apply for a partnership with ASCENT?
The ASCENT Council was formed to fill in gaps in accelerating dual-use technologies within the private sector and integrating with government programs. The Council connects these unique dots within the ecosystem to minimize lapse in coordinating with government. For dual-use technology companies that are becoming institutionalized, ASCENT can provide additional expert resources and relationships to accelerate its growth. Participation with ASCENT allows the company to utilize a custom program leveraging the vast national and internal expert resources of the ASCENT Council. For example, as many growth companies grow into the market, they may experience the “valley of death,” where initiatives die because of constantly changing government dynamics, including players and programs. The Council deploys a unique expertise and solution not available in the market that reduces the exponential risk.
What are the costs to partner with ASCENT ?
The ASCENT Council was established to maximize acceleration and not burden growth companies with additional cash outlay requirements. Therefore, the ASCENT Council’s financial compensation is through three specific value vehicles: warrant funds, equity, and shared revenue. Uniquely, one or any value combination can be structured depending on the current condition, abilities, and structure of the ASCENT member company.
